The service attitude of the hotel is very poor, with a sense of inexplicable arrogance from grassroots waiters to managers. This may be related to the hotel's proximity to the monastery. These service industry scumbags probably consider themselves priests and nuns, and customers as foolish believers.

Spent a few days on holiday break in Roscommon and the Abbey was an excellent choice as a place to base ourselves. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and very pleasant staff made our stay most enjoyable. Will definitely return very soon.

Staff are very nice and welcoming, however the bar/restaurant staff were very young and looked completely lost and seemed overwhelmed, they brought the wrong orders to several people, also left guests waiting very long to take orders where they had to go up and ask if you have to order at the bar, there was an older man working who was on the ball and seemed to do the job of everyone else, the smoking patio area was covered in debris and bird poo, egg chair was also unusable, the staff were nice and I feel bad, the food was amazing dinner and breakfast couldn't fault it the breakfast staff were brilliant and very professional the complete opposite to the evening staff, leisure centre was great water was a good temperature, the rooms were clean and warm but very dated, there was random chairs in hallways and a big chair outside the lift which looked completely out of place, however all the staff were nice, great location, food was great, prices were good

Couldn't find a single fault, excellent experience in the Abbey. Booked Wednesday for Thursday and Friday night. Kevin in reservations was a legend. Sorted a wheelchair accessible room on the ground floor nearest to amenities, i.e., reception area and bar, smoking area, etc. Arrived 2 hours before checkin time, and the room was ready to go. Orla on reception was very informative and extremely friendly, gave us all the info needed, i.e., WiFi code meal times. Ed sorted the bags and was mega friendly. The room was bright and airy, and the bathroom was totally accessible as promised. Bed were mega comfy. The food was fantastic with a large array of dishes available. The presentation and portion size were perfect. All areas of the hotel, indoor and out, were spotless. Every single staff member was bang on. Wedding and music festival on Friday bight so we were prepared for a noisy night but we didn't hear a sound. Wheelchair parking at the entrance secure parking. Price was shockingly good and location to town, shops 5 minutes. Will be rebooking very soon and would highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at the Abbey Hotel, we enjoyed the Carvery very much.Also a very nice breakfast,with lots of choices. The room was very comfortable.we also very much liked the pool & leisure facilities. Thank you Laura for assistance with booking process & all the staff , a credit to the hotel.

A wonderful 6 night stay in the Abbey hotel, the service was first class and the meals delicious. On our last night found the disabled parking bay occupied by a non display badge holder. My wife and I are unable to walk any distance without stopping for breath. I brought it to the attention of reception without result and indeed showed no interest. After a weeks stay with great service I was left with no alternative but to place a note on the offending vehicle “Selfish parking. No disabled badge displayed”. Disappointed that the receptionist didn’t help to resolve the problem. This problem is universal, only effecting us on our last night. Highly praise the hotel and general service. r Rant over.
